Community Health and Well-being
Access to quality healthcare remains a significant challenge in marginalized and nomadic communities across Kenya. Many families live far from medical facilities, with limited access to basic health services, maternal care, and mental health support. Our Community Health & Well-being Program aims to bridge this gap by delivering essential healthcare services to vulnerable populations through mobile clinics, health education, mental health support, and maternal care initiatives.
Our Approach
Mobile Clinics & Outreach Services
For many remote and nomadic communities, the nearest health center is often kilometers away. Our mobile clinics bring life-saving medical care to these populations by:
Deploying Medical Teams – Doctors, nurses, and community health workers travel to villages with medical supplies.
Providing General Health Checkups – Screenings for malnutrition, diabetes, hypertension, and infectious diseases.
Vaccination & Immunization Drives – Ensuring children receive essential vaccines against polio, measles, and other preventable diseases.
Emergency Medical Support – Treating injuries, infections, and providing life-saving care during outbreaks or disasters.
Impact: In 2023 alone, our mobile clinics treated over 15,000 people, including 2,500 pregnant women and 5,000 children.
Maternal & Child Health Care
Maternal and infant mortality rates remain alarmingly high in rural Kenya due to limited access to prenatal and postnatal care. Our interventions focus on:
Antenatal & Postnatal Care – Ensuring safe pregnancies and reducing birth-related complications.
Skilled Birth Attendance – Training traditional birth attendants and midwives to provide safer deliveries.
Nutrition Support for Mothers & Infants – Distributing nutrient-rich foods, vitamins, and supplements to reduce malnutrition.
Family Planning Services – Providing contraceptives, reproductive health education, and counseling for women.
Impact: Since 2022, we have supported 3,500 expectant mothers with prenatal care and safe delivery services.
